At the Once Upon A Time In LA music festival in the United States, rapper Drakeo the Ruler was stabbed in the neck and died. It was reported by TMZ on Sunday, December 19.

It is stated that the rapper, whose real name is Darrell Caldwell, was attacked by a group of men backstage and was seriously injured. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. He died a short time later.

The concert was held at Banc of California Stadium in Exposition Park in Los Angeles. Hip-hop artists such as Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, The Game, 50 Cent and YG were scheduled to perform at the event. The concert ended up being canceled.

But royalties will go to Universal Music Publishing Group, which is a division of the Universal Music Group record corporation, if any reissues of the albums, compilations of hits or performances of the tracks at concerts are made.

In an official statement, the company said, “Universal Music Publishing Group, UMG’s premier music publishing division, announces it has acquired Sting’s music catalog.” This means that “the company acquires the rights to all of the artist’s solo projects, including his latest album The Bridge, as well as all of the music he recorded as a member of The Police.”

According to The New York Times, the deal could have been as much as $250 million (the parties to the agreement wouldn’t give a figure themselves).

Sure, it seems huge. But then again, Sting is one of the most overdubbed artists today, with covers of his hits by stars ranging from Julio Iglesias to trendy rappers and indie rockers. And fragments of his recognizable music are sometimes very willing to use in their advertising campaigns of reputable firms.

So this amount will gradually be “repaid”, and good, favorite by a generation of music lovers Sting’s hits really is a lot. In addition, the agreement included and the songs that the musician wrote from 1976 to1983 years for the cult band The Police.

An American court has rejected a lawsuit filed by Spencer Elden, whose photo of him as a child was published on the cover of the album Nevermind in 1991. He demanded that Universal Music edit the photo and plaster over his genitals.

Elden’s defense has until Jan. 13 to file a second lawsuit. If the lawyers don’t meet that deadline, however, they won’t be able to re-file after that. If they make it in time, however, Nirvana’s lawyers have until Jan. 27 to respond to the new lawsuit.

Last August, Elden sued the surviving members of Nirvana. The man, who turns 30 in 2021, explained that the cover of his photo “traumatized him for life.” He claimed that his legal guardians never signed documents authorizing the use of his images.

Nirvana’s album Nevermind was released in September 1991 and became one of the best-selling albums in history. The cover of Nevermind featured a naked toddler underwater in a pool. The boy was reaching for a dollar bill attached to a fishing hook.

Photographer Kirk Weddle called the Eldens, with whom he was on friendly terms, to participate in the shoot. They were paid $200 to take the picture.

He died at a hospital in Belleville, New Jersey, Variety reports, citing the late Cantor’s widow, Cathy Lawrence.

For 30 years he wrote music for the children’s television show Sesame Street, for which he wrote more than three hundred songs and for which he won three Emmy Awards.

Lawrence also composed the soundtracks for the romantic melodrama “Sooner or Later,” the film “Beat the Drum Slowly,” and the HBO musical “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” based on the book by Beatrix Potter. From 2003 until his death he worked as a conductor at Stamford Synagogue.
